On December 5th 34 first graders from Ann Soldo Elementary visited Farm Discovery. They fed our chickens and goats, learned the nutritional differences between an apple and apple cider, while pressing their own cider; and they practiced identifying foods in various stages of their life cycle in a garden scavenger hunt. At the end of the day, the kids did not want to leave this special place. Jorge said, “After my mom is off work I am going to have her take me back here.” We hear comments like this from kids all the time. They are transformed by their experience with Farm Discovery and they want to share it with the people they love. Our on-farm events and family programs are their opportunity to share the farm with their families.
Your support of our community events and programs makes them very successful. Our definition of success is making empowering, farm-based events and programs available to our community, educational and fun for kids, youth and families. We value your contribution to our local, good food community.

We are currently doing our planning for 2017 and hope to include you from the beginning. We are celebrating our 10th year of offering transformative food, farming, and environmental education in our community.

Growing and preparing sustainably farmed food supports healthy bodies, healthy ecosystems and healthy economies. One person’s day-to-day choices, even a child’s, can positively impact and support the health of our community.

Please consider a meaningful contribution to help us transform kids relationships to food and farming.
