Natasha Perry is one of our board members and joined us last month at our Supporters Picnic, along with Josh Rodriguez. We are glad to have her support and want to share more about her involvement. Natasha shares more of her support below
“During the pandemic I received a Farm Discovery newsletter and was inspired by the work of Jessica and her team. They had quickly pivoted their program to help families in need during a very challenging time. The Farm Discovery team does amazing work to inspire kids of all ages by sharing the beauty of the land and providing a wide range of educational programs. They also partner with local non-profits to provide organic produce to folks in need of assistance. There is no one single area of the mission I can identify that is the most meaningful, because it’s the entirety of the organization that makes it so special! The land, the animals, the dedicated staff, the kids, families…even the weeds – although some might disagree with me on that one 🙂 The breadth of the entire organization is what speaks to me. The team makes a concerted effort to reach youth and families through different mechanisms, increasing the reach. This ranges from field trips with kids arriving in buses, to being onsite at schools with a produce stand giving students the opportunity to taste organic fruits and vegetables. The team also fosters growth for youth by providing leadership programs working alongside the Farm Discovery staff.”
