How She Got Involved
Mary chose to give to Farm Discovery because she believes in the power of local food and the importance of creating opportunities for youth in our community.
Mary shared that she was inspired by Farm Discovery’s commitment to connecting children and families with healthy, local produce and hands-on learning experiences on the farm. She believes that every young person deserves access to nature, nutritious food, and a supportive place to learn and explore.
Her generosity helps make scholarships, produce donations, and youth education programs possible. Mary’s gift shows how one person’s support can make a difference.
Why Farm Discovery’s Mission Matters
Because of her donation, we can:
• Donate 65,000 pounds of produce in 2026
• Expand our gleaning program to increase the amount of food diverted from the waste stream and onto kitchen tables
• Offer scholarships for children to learn cooking, nutrition, and healthy habits on the farm
