Farm Discovery hosts a variety of fellowship and service programs in partnership with university, state and national service initiatives, all of which support meaningful service and professional development while helping advance Farm Discovery’s mission in food systems, education, and environmental stewardship.

These opportunities provide paid service roles where participants lead and support projects related to food access, sustainability, community engagement and education with Farm Discovery.

Americorps Service Members

AmeriCorps is a national service program that addresses critical community needs across the United States, through volunteer work in education, public health, disaster response, and more.

By fostering civic engagement and equipping participants with valuable skills, AmeriCorps helps build stronger, more resilient communities while offering educational benefits to those who serve.

California Climate Action Corps Fellows

California Climate Action Corps is a national service program led by California VolunteersOffice of the Governor, and implemented by Bay Area Community Resources. The program is rooted in hope for a better tomorrow and offers a Fellowship for emerging climate and civic leaders. 

This is a paid term of service with nonprofit organizations like Farm Discovery and others to harness the power of volunteerism and drive climate action in frontline communities most impacted by climate change. Fellows support and lead projects related to urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, and wildfire resiliency.

College Corps Fellows

The College Corps Fellowship program is a partnership between CA Volunteers and AmeriCorps to provide up to $10,000 to high financial need and first generation students in exchange for 450 hours of training and community service to increase the affordability of college while developing tangible professional and leadership skills.

College Corps Fellows support local nonprofits, K-12 schools, healthcare institutions, and environmental organizations.

Service Learners

The Service Learner Program plays a vital role in creating peer-to-peer mentorship for CSUMB students engaging in service learning courses.

Service Learning Student Leaders support students, faculty, and community partners in connecting concepts within the service learning courses to the service activities performed by students at community partner sites.
