As an essential service, The Live Earth Farm CSA and Farmer’s Markets (at the markets’ discretion) will remain open and in operation; Farm Discovery will not be hosting any programs or events as long as the Santa Cruz County Shelter in Place order is in effect (until April 7 on the date of publication).
We are deeply concerned by the effects of COVID-19 on our community and the world and are doing all we can to protect the health and well being of our own staff and all who are connected to Farm Discovery and Live Earth Farm during this challenging time.
We are closely following the lead of Santa Cruz County Health and due to the Shelter in Place order, we are cancelling programming through April 7, 2020 as per 3/16 guidelines. If you have a program scheduled before April 7, please contact education@farmdiscovery.org to reschedule your program.
We are proud of the essential service we are part of providing for our community and we know that your strong connection to where your food is grown can be part of the solution to this health crisis. We are also proud to be an outlet for other local businesses who will be challenged by this Shelter in Place order.
Live Earth Farm will keep the CSA and farmer’s markets open and operational with new food safety protocols in place. CSA pick up locations will be expanded to include the farmer’s markets. Order staples such as eggs, bread, coffee, salsa and other shelf-stable products like jams and honey. We also feature produce from other local farms, such as Coastal Moon Berry Farms.
We look forward to a time in the near future when we can safely open the farm as an outdoor resource for our community. Stay tuned.
Thank you for being a part of the Farm Discovery community!
