We believe that children thrive when given the opportunity to learn outdoors, that’s why we’ve been opening our farm to campers since 2009. Our Summer Camp allows kids to be kids. Our days are filled with creative & active experiences. We plant, harvest, irrigate, cut, cook, munch, preserve, paint, create, hike and more all in the beautiful setting of Live Earth Farm’s 150 acres of working organic farm, riparian corridor, oak and redwood forest in the Pajaro Valley. We build a community of friends during our time together that allow each camper to participate safely and comfortably in the camp environment.

Campers will learn all the steps necessary to grow their own food including: soil health, planting, weeding, watering and harvesting. They will then experiment with different preserving, baking and cooking techniques to enjoy their harvests.

Campers will also have the opportunity to let the artists in them shine daily.  Activities include flower pressing, clay pots, sun printing, natural tie dyes, and vegetable stamping. It is truly magical seeing the different artwork that each student creates. Our art activities are a wonderful way to build community by highlighting the similarities and differences in each of our creations.

Another highlight of our camp programs are our Leaders in Training (LITs). For each camp we have 4 positions for teens, 14+. These teens participate in a pre-camp training day, learning outdoor education skills, community building games, safety and risk management and developing their own activities. They then take responsibility for a small group of their own campers, (who tend to adore and become very attached to their LITs over the course of the week.) Every day after camp the teens meet to debrief, learn how to handle challenges,  and participate in job skills and career development workshops. It is an awesome opportunity for teens to develop leadership and employment skills, while enjoying the outdoors with enthusiastic kids!
