During a spring field trip this May, Christine had a group of fifth graders gathered in the garden to introduce the concept of habitats. A boy named Isaiah demonstrated his understanding when he proclaimed, “so like, a garden is a habitat for plants!” When a student takes new information and applies it to another area of study, we can be sure they not only understand the new concept, but they are ready to use it and share it with others, a higher level of understanding.

Last year, Farm Discovery raised over $45,000 through our annual fall feast benefit dinner & auction. That amount leverages over 800 scholarships for low-income students, stipends for 25 summertime youth Leaders in Training, two full time 8 week Junior Staff positions, increased accessibility to our community events, and much needed funds for our farm infrastructure. This year, we would like to ask your help to make our fall feast the most successful one yet.

The annual Fall Feast in the Fields will be held this year on Saturday, September 22. This event is our biggest fundraising event of the year. We bring over 150 guests to the farm, where they enjoy local wine, beer, drink, and a multi-course meal highlighting produce from Live Earth and many other local purveyors. The event also features a silent and live auction. Our theme this year is Sow & Grow highlighting our goals to sow education in our community in order to grow healthy food, farming and natural systems.

The support of our generous community of donors like you makes a meaningful difference. Please consider supporting us once again in 2018 with a generous sponsorship of $1,000.00 or more to support the continuing empowerment of youth, families and our community.

Your contribution will support Farm Discovery and put your brand in front of our community minded guests and supporters during the event and beyond. If you are able to support us this year, there are two ways to do so: you can return the form enclosed with this letter with your donated item, check, or credit card contribution, or make a secure contribution online using the “Donate” button at: farmdiscovery.org/sowgrow-sponsor

Will you consider supporting us in our mission to empower youth and families to build and sustain healthy food, farming, social and natural systems? Through Farm Discovery programs, kids are building a strong foundation for healthy lives, which lead to healthier communities and a healthier world.

With Kind Regards,
Jessica Ridgeway
