What a busy fall we had on the farm! So many wonderful classes from Pajaro Valley Unified School District came out to explore the magic of apple season. A major highlight of this fall was piloting a new NGSS aligned 1st grade lesson exploring how plants and animals stay warm (are adapted to their habitats).
Seven classes from Calabasas, HA Hyde, Starlight and Hall Elementary focused on goat and chicken anatomy on the farm. Now, they will take what they learned back to the classroom where they will apply their observations to a design challenge. The students will engineer and test solutions to the human problem of being cold if we sleep outside.
We are excited to continue building partnerships with local schools and designing really useful curriculum with local teachers. Our fall season is coming to a close and are looking forward to a calm winter of planning and prepping for a busy spring!
