Farm dog ‘Moonshine’ keeps Calabasas Elementary 1st graders occupied while waiting for their apple cider

Farm Discovery is saying goodbye to summer programs and welcoming in students on the farm to discover fall! The best season of the year, in my opinion! We are busy with lots of schools coming out to the farm to meet our animals, explore our fields and garden, and enjoy the taste of autumn with freshly pressed apple cider. This fall we are very excited to have many local Pajaro Valley schools learn with us; such as Ann Soldo, Calabasas, MacQuiddy, and Bradley Elementary!

Our fall curriculum is ever changing with the seasons and fall has lots of shoulder season magic to offer, including tasting and harvesting concord grapes, meyer lemons, apples, quince, and much more!

Our homeschool program is back in full swing with October kicking off 10 new families to learn on the farm with us this year. We started off this program exploring our apple cooler, pressing cider, and setting up our own apple cider vinegar.

We’re dreaming of winter-y recipes and homemade gifts looking ahead. Fall field trips wrap up around Thanksgiving (if the weather holds). To schedule a field trip, contact Hayley at education@farmdiscovery.org
